Battle of the Beards

Don’t even think about shaving before the Battle of the Beards hosted by Indiana’s Bearded Villains. Battle of the Beards is the first Evansville beard competition. There will be food trucks, corn hole tournament, kids activities and silent auction. Wear your Halloween costume for the Halloween Costume Contest!

There will be ten categories in the competition including:

• Full Beard Natural under 4”
• Full Beard Natural 4 to 8”
• Full Beard Natural 8 to 12”
• Full Beard Natural 12”+
• Full Beard with Styled Mustache
• Freestyle Beard
• General Mustache
• Best costume with Beard
• Worst Beard
• Whiskerinas

Registration: $10 per category

Wandering Owl Twilight Tasting Learn More

Grab a beer, glass of wine and some food at Wesselman Woods’ 2018 Wandering Owl Twilight Tasting! There will be 21 local vendors serving up the best eats in the nature preserve’s new Nature Playscape and live music by Curt’n Rod & Zion.

Boo at the Zoo

Fall might be the best time to visit Evansville’s Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden with the cooler temperatures. Visit the animals and enjoy the fun activities at Boo at the Zoo like trick or treating, live entertainment, storytelling, nightly costume contests and more!

Boo at the Zoo is a scare-free event and fun for the whole family!

TIP: Everyone in costume will receive $1 off admission.

Halloween on Franklin Street offers a slew of activities for a big day of fun for all ages! Check out the schedule of events below.

  • 8 a.m. – Monster Bash Dash (NEW!)
  • 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. – Fall Bazaar and Little Monster Bash
  • 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. – Trick or Treat on Franklin

Trunk or Treat

Head to Swonder Ice Arena for their 3rd annual Trunk or Treat. There will be spooky ice skating, games, face painting and trunk or treating!

Spooky skating is $5 and all the proceeds benefit the Evansville Parks Foundation. Trunk or Treat is free!
