Kids learn manners, etiquette at this summer camp

This isn’t your average summer camp. The Good Manners Club with Kentucky’s Etiquette Lady is hosting various etiquette courses for those ages 6-17 years-old at the Miller House in Owenbsoro, KY.

Students who attend the courses become “Etiquetteketeers” and official members of The Good Manners Club. Lessons covered in the courses include: handshaking, dining skills, and thank you card writing.

The Empowered Lady course is designed to empower and inspire young ladies. The class schedule includes lessons in: introductions, improving posture, and using social media as a personal portfolio to impress prospective colleges and employers.

Young men that attend The Empowered Gentleman course will have lessons in: grooming, dining skills, and body language. The schedule also includes cell phone etiquette and mock job interviews.

Classes are taught by Kentucky’s Etiquette Lady, a character inspired by Mary Poppins. The Etiquette Lady (a.k.a Valeria M. Roberts) earned a certification in business, social, and dining from The Lett Group at Georgetown University. She has a second certification from the Etiquette Institute in St. Louis, MO.
