Food, fireworks and more set for Mt. Vernon River Days festival

All on the Mt. Vernon riverfront!

Summer is coming to an end, but not before the annual Mt. Vernon River Days! The three-day event is packed with food, live music and more all hosted on Mt. Vernon’s beautiful riverfront.

Mt. Vernon River Days are always held during the second weekend in September. This year’s festival is set for Friday, September 13 through Sunday, September 15.

Along with live music, food and vendor booths, some of the biggest events include the Smoke on the Ohio BBQ Competition, 5K Color Run, and classic car show.

The festival hosts the Smoke on the Ohio BBQ competition. The competition is an official Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) event. KCBS is a nonprofit organization of over 20,000 members promoting and enjoying a barbeque. The teams competing will be smoking and serving bbq-goodness Friday and Saturday.
