There are few better comfort foods than mac and cheese. We know this and so does Tri-State Food Bank! Their third annual Mac & Cheese Festival is this weekend, Saturday, November 2 at their newly acquired facility located at 2504 Lynch Rd.
The event is from 4 – 7 p.m.
The Mac & Cheese Festival will have 11 Mac Chefs battling in a little healthy competition in three mac and cheese categories including traditional mac and cheese that you’d find in grandma’s kitchen; non-traditional mac and cheese including BBQ Mac and other cheesy masterpieces; and dessert mac and cheese.
Great local eateries and individual chefs make up the 11 competitors. You can expect to see mac and cheese dishes by Amy’s on Franklin, Primetime Pub & Grill, the winner of Food Network’s Worst Bakers in America, Melody Pfeffer, and more!
Melody Pfeffer won the reality cooking show because she was the most improved by the end of the show and won the entire thing! She will be competing in the dessert mac and cheese category where she will make ‘Macaroonis’ which is a combination of macaroons (a food that she made twice during her time on Food Network’s Worst Bakers in America) and mac and cheese.
The folks at Tri-State Food Bank had some already. We’re told they’re good!
A panel of judges will sample and award winners in each of the three categories. Attendees will also get to cast their vote for the People’s Choice Award.
Get excited to taste some of the creamiest and cheesiest dishes around as well as some of the most… interesting mac and cheese combos you’ve ever seen like 2018’s tiramisu mac and cheese.
Carson’s Brewery and Myriad Brewing Company will be providing free craft beer samples as well as beer for sale. There will also be a cash bar available.
Tickets to the Third annual Mac & Cheese Festival are $30 through Friday, November 1 and will increase at the door of the event to $35. Kids 12 years old and younger are free.
You can purchase tickets online here. Or by texting MacFest to 41444.
