Celebrate Free Fishing Day in the River City

The DNR is having a Free Fishing Day this weekend

Indiana residents do not need a fishing license to fish the state’s public waters on Saturday, May 19 for Free Fishing Day.

The Evansville Parks and Recreation Department announced that channel catfish have been restocked at Diamond Valley Park and Garvin Park’s lakes.

Normally, only youth (those 17 and younger) and a few other special anglers are exempt from the license requirement.

Another Free Fishing event in Indiana and Kentucky will take place June 2-3.
