The festival is free!
There’s just something about smoked meats on a grill to get Southern Indiana folk excited. So get excited! This weekend you can eat your fill of BBQ at the 2nd annual Evansville BBQ & Music Festival at Roberts Park from 12 pm – 8 pm.
The festival is free to attend for the entire family.
There will be all. kinds. of. BBQ.
The fun starts on Friday night with a ticketed event with BBQ sampling from Fine Swine and Smokin’ Rose along with live bluegrass music. This is the VIP opening BBQ Experience and is for those 21 and over only.
The main events will be on Saturday. This day is free and open to the public. There will be a kids’ zone, corn hole tournament, live music, craft beer sampling, and a BBQ competition. Some of the BBQ competitors are also vendors allowing you to try some of the competition BBQ. Attendees can also play the role of a judge in the ‘People’s Choice’ category of the competition.
While admission is free, BBQ can be purchased through the event’s voucher system. When you arrive at Roberts Park, find a voucher station to exchange cash for vouchers.
Some proceeds of this event support nonprofits in our community. For a small fee, kids can participate in the Kids’ Zone attractions to support the Boy Scouts of America Buffalo Trace Council. The Kids’ Zone will feature a Lego pinewood derby race, rain gutter regatta, BB gun range, as well as face painting. The Boy Scouts of America will also have meat sticks and their famous popcorn for sale.
Not only that, but the Junior League of Evansville will have food collection bins at the gates of the festival to collect non-perishables for student lunches in the Tri-State.
Be sure to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and a pop-up tent for some shade. Leave your pup at home. No pets, coolers, food, or large bags are allowed.
