12 days of Christmas happening in downtown Owensboro

OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) - The 12 Days of Christmas Event is back in Owensboro this weekend.

However, the weather is causing some issues for events Friday night.

All outdoor activities including the Energy on Ice skate rink have been canceled due to the weather, but the Hot Chocolate Hop is still a go

Several local businesses will be serving up that signature holiday drink.

The synthetic ice rink and light show will be a no-go Friday night, but they’ll light up the riverfront every weekend until the new year.

“The Dancing Lights, obviously, is another part of a signature of two signature anchors being Energy on Ice here and then the Dancing Lights down by the fountains in the Park,” said Tim Ross, director of public events. “Really excited that Big Rivers Electric made that possible this year. So every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9 to 5 p.m., those lights will come on every 15 minutes.”

You can keep up with updates and cancellations on the city’s Facebook page.
