Trick or Treat events happening in and around River City

It's spooky season! Whether you are tired of knocking on doors or are just trying to maximize candy collection, here's a list of Halloween events with candy.

1. Safe Trick or Treat at Eastland Mall

Eastland Mall continues their tradition this year with Safe Trick or Treat at Eastland Mall. Families and trick or treaters can roam the mall visiting over 100 retailers inside!

Follow these event rules to participate:

1. No toy weapons of any type are allowed
2. Masks can only be on children 12 years of age or younger
3. Adults are encouraged to dress up too, but their costumes must fall in line with the code of conduct for Eastland Mall and not include any masking of any type.

2. Halloween on Franklin Street

Halloween on Franklin Street offers a slew of activities for a big day of fun for all ages! Check out the schedule of events below.

  • 8 a.m. – Monster Bash Dash (NEW!)
  • 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. – Fall Bazaar and Little Monster Bash
  • 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. – Trick or Treat on Franklin
  • 6 p.m. – 2 a.m. – Monster Ball Crawl for monsters 21 and older ($7)

3. Trunk or Treat at Swonder Ice Arena

Head to Swonder Ice Arena for their 3rd annual Trunk or Treat. There will be spooky ice skating, games, face painting and trunk or treating!

Spooky skating is $5 and all the proceeds benefit the Evansville Parks Foundation. Trunk or Treat is free!

Admission: Spooky Skate $5, Trunk or treating is free

4. Boo at the Zoo

Boo at the Zoo continues this year for two weekends: October 19-21 and October 26-28. There will be trick or treating, live entertainment, storytelling, animal encounters and nightly costume contests!

Admission: $6 for Zoo Members and $8 for non-members

5. Trick or Treat with Dinosaurs at cMoe!

Trick or treat with the Dinosaurs at cMoe! The dinosaurs come from the traveling exhibit of Omaha Children’s Museum where children can explore the prehistoric world.

Kids will also be able to create a dinosaur in a sensory art project at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. All activities are included with cMoe admission.

6. Trail of Treats

Get ready for the 29th annual Trail of Treats in Smother’s Park in Downtown Owensboro!

Trick or treaters will visit over 65 local businesses, balloon twisters and music.

7. Halloween Hullaballoo

Are you brave enough to trek the haunted trails and escape the mummy’s curse in The Tomb?

If not, don’t fret; you can trick or treat, play games and crafts, too!

Admission: $5 | Children 3 and younger are free

8. 2018 Yellig Park Trick-or-Treat

Santa Claus isn’t always about Christmas! Monsters, ghosts and ghouls will trick or trick on Yellig Park’s trail for goodies from local businesses. The 2018 Yellig Park Trick or Treat will also have inflatables, Halloween games, face painting and a costume contest.

  • 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. – Enjoy inflatables, Halloween games, face painting and costume contest
  • 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. – Trick-or-treat on the trail
