A Downtown Christmas

Saturday, December 1

9 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Have you seen the decorations in downtown Evansville? Saturday is a great time to go when there will be FREE hot cocoa, holiday music, free holiday photo booth and a time visit with Santa.

At 4 p.m. and then again at 7 p.m. Old National Public Theatre will be screening ‘It’s a Wonderful Life” for free! The screenings are ticketed. Tickets can be picked up starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the corner of 3rd & Main.

Downtown Holiday Stroll

Saturday, December 1

3-7 p.m.

The City of Owensboro is hosting their annual Holiday Stroll in downtown Owensboro. There will be shopping, dining, Christmas carolers, photos with Santa and the Smother Park Christmas tree lighting at 5 p.m.

Bring the little ones, too! The fourth annual ‘Elf on the Shelf’ Scavenger Hunt will take place during the event where participants will search for elves hidden throughout downtown Owensboro. Organizers will provide clues on the City’s Instagram page. One lucky winner will receive four tickets to Owensboro Symphony Orchestra’s Disney in Concert’ at the RiverPark Center in March 2019.

The Owensboro Museum of Science and History is hosting reindeer Saturday from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. and during the Holiday Stroll between 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Newburgh Celebrates Christmas

Saturday, December 1 and Sunday, December 2

Saturday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Sunday: 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Newburgh Celebrates Christmas is a blast from the past event in where downtown Newburgh is filled with carolers, musicians and people dressed in Victorian attire. There will be shopping, street musicians, performers and more! Organizers have added a trolley this year to shuttle holiday shoppers to all stores downtown without making them repark their car.

Breakfast with Santa at Mesker Park Zoo

Saturday and Sunday, December 1 & 2

Don’t miss Santa at Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden this weekend. Enjoy a hot breakfast, let Santa know your wishes and snag a photo with him! Kids will eat yummy holiday treats and will even make snow globe.

And, of course, there will be animal encounters!

If you love the movie ‘Elf’, then you’re are going to love Elf Magic on Franklin Street. There will be many activities throughout the day including crafts, sing-a-alongs and more. World’s Best Coffee, hot chocolate and donuts will be given out at Acorn Plaza all day.

The Owensboro Convention Center invited Santa for Breakfast! The menu for breakfast will be pancakes and bacon. Tickets are $12 at the door.

Ugly Sweater Fun Run

Saturday, December 1

8 a.m. – 11 a.m.

Grab your ugliest sweater and head to Lamasco’s bright and early for the Ugly Sweater Fun Run. The race event is a free, untimed run. If you bring a new or gently used shirt of any kind, you can pick up one of the Tri-State Fitness or Rise up and Run new race shirts from previous events.

All shirts and monetary donations will benefit the Evansville Rescue Mission.

Henderson Christmas in the Park

10 a.m.

Head to this winter wonderland to play on a bright red sleigh, send a letter to Santa in the North Pole and more! The Henderson Christmas Parade is also Saturday starting at 10 a.m. and will make its way down Main Street.

Christmas in Boon Village

Friday, November 30 – Sunday, December 2

If you’re in Boonville this weekend, be sure to check out ‘Christmas in Boon Village’ on the west side of the Boonville City Square. There will be barrel rides, pony rides, carriage rides, music and holiday shopping.

Christmas in Boon Village will wrap up Sunday with the 72nd Annual Christmas Parade. There are 110 parade floats including Santa himself! Check out the parade route below:

  2. South on First Street to Locust,
  3. East on Locust to Fifth,
  4. North on Fifth to Main,
  5. West on Main to Second,
  6. North on Second to Mill,
  7. South on First back to BHS

Haynie's For the Holidays

Sunday, December 2

Head to Haynie’s Corner for a fun-filled afternoon including photos with Santa from 2-5 p.m., the inaugural Haynie’s Corner Tree lighting and neighborhood caroling at 5 p.m. Visit White Swan Coffee Lab, The Pizza Revolution and the Haynie’s Corner Arts District restaurants for festive drinks and yummy eats. Catch a Pedicab ride while you’re there!

Farm 57 will be on site selling fresh cut Christmas trees from their Evansville location all day 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.
