But why? W.C. Handy is known as the Father of Blues. According to the festival website, he spent about 10 years in Henderson, KY where he met his wife.
The festival is a tribute to his work, the time he spent in the area, and the Henderson Community.
The best part about the festival? W.C. Handy Blues and Barbecue Festival is completely free to attend.
Not only is Zydeco night arguably the best night of the festival, its the night where all the proceeds go directly back to the festival.
