First City BrewFest and Homebrew Competition coming to Vincennes

Craft beer connoisseurs unite! A brand new craft beer festival is heading for the Tri-State.

The inaugural First City BrewFest is set for May 18, 2019, in Indiana’s first city, Vincennes.

There will be 20 Midwestern breweries that will serve unlimited 3 oz. pours of craft beer and ciders during the entire event!

Event goers can try beers from around the Midwest including:

  • Vincennes Brewing Co.
  • Sun King Brewery
  • Ace Cider
  • Carson’s Brewery
  • Excel Brewing Company
  • Basket Case Brewing Company
  • Effing Brew
  • Goose Island
  • Starcut Ciders
  • Switchyard Brewing Company
  • Short’s Brewing Company

But those aren’t the only beers to try. The event will be featuring 30 home brewers at First City Brewfest that compete in the Homebrew Competition.

Intrigued? We were, too.

Homebrew Competition

First City BrewFest will hold the Homebrew Competition at the event where home brewers will compete for the title of ‘Fan Favorite’, a $500 visa gift card, and the opportunity to collaborate their best creation with The Vincennes Brewing Co. that will be showcased and sold in The Vincennes Brewing Co. tap room.

Second place will take on a $200 gift card and third place will win a $100 gift card.

To be entered into the Homebrew Competition, contestants must attend the Pre-Qualification event held at Vincennes Brewing Co. on March 30.  A panel of judges will select the top 10 beers to move onto the Homebrew Competition held at First City Brewfest. Any homebrewer that doesn’t make the top 10 will be automatically entered into the lottery for the final 20 spots in the 2019 First City Brewfest Competition.
