The park is finally open!
Update: In accordance with Gov. Holcomb’s mask mandate, you will need to bring a mask to Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari. Starting Monday, July 27 guests will have to wear masks as they go through the gate and in any indoor spaces. That includes restaurants, restrooms, gift shops, even roller-coster stations, and the small buildings that house the soft drink dispensers.
Masks are not required for water rides or in the midway and kids under seven don’t need to have a mask.
Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari is most definitely a summer staple, but like many other things, this season will be much different. They announced some changes and procedures in a message to their guests from Fourth-Generation Owner, Leah Koch, on their website.
Firstly, the park is set to open on June 17. This date is in accordance with Gov. Holcomb’s Back on Track Indiana Plan.
When they open you can expect to see hand sanitizer available and social distancing markings all over the park. You should also expect to wait a bit longer in line for the Thunderbird and all other rides as they will be sanitizing them frequently.
However, this year you will be able to wait in ‘virtual lines’ on your phone instead of in person. Accesso Technology Group plc announced a new agreement with Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari® that will include the theme park’s first-ever use of accesso’s virtual queuing technology.
Be sure to purchase a ticket to secure your spot for the day as they are limiting guests admitted into the park. They plan to only sell the number of tickets they feel is safe each day, based on groups that are already coming to the park, past Season Passholder attendance, and the additional tickets that will not be sold just to be safe.
Check out the new ticket calendar, here, to purchase a ticket that is only available for a specific date. Season Pass holders can still come on any day they choose without reservations because they have made adjustments based on past Season Passholder attendance.
Just like all businesses affected by COVID-19, they are reassessing all aspects of the situation and creating new safety procedures as things progress.
They ask that you stay up to date with their safety procedures and updates by checking their website.
