Battle between Guns and Hoses will decide which side gets bragging rights

After 10 years, the score is tied between the Guns and Hoses. The annual charity boxing match between local police officers and firefighters will be held April 7 at the Ford Center.

Each team has won the match five times.

According to the Guns and Hoses website, a large portion of the event’s proceeds will go towards the eventual building of an area group home for people with Prader-Willi Syndrome. There is currently no group home in the River City dedicated specifically to the care of people with PWS.

The rest of the proceeds will be donated to various charities that involve local children and people with disabilities.
